CCPS Launches Gulf Oil Spill Web Page

RALEIGH – The N.C. Department of Crime Control and Public Safety today launched a new Web page dedicated to providing information and useful links regarding the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

The page is located at the department's home page at www.nccrimecontrol.org and can be reached by clicking on the Gulf Oil Spill tab, which takes users to the page entitled “North Carolina Prepares for Effects from Gulf Oil Spill.”

Information that will be posted on the Web page includes news releases from CCPS and other responding agencies, fact sheets, a list of scientific experts and more. Useful links will also be provided including those to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Unified Command for the incident, alternative technology ideas, how people can volunteer to help and more.
